Fresh dramatizes the mundane. She frames everyday domestic moments in striking compositions, fabricating theatrical appeal through light and colour. History, architecture, and the human experience direct her imagery, while symbolism entices the viewer to search through the canvas for hidden meaning. The figures that appear in her paintings are not portraits of people Fresh knows - rather they are personified allegories that activate the history of the homes she depicts. The spaces we occupy become the spaces that hold our stories and Fresh strives to capture moments that remind us of human experiences that transcend time.
Daisy Fresh recently relocated to Lambton-County, settling into the village of Alvinston, where she maintains her studio practice. After years of working as a designer for an international global marketing company, she has returned to her passion for painting full-time.
Daisy is a graduate of Sheridan College’s Animation, Arts Design program, and continues to enrich her studies though Western University, and prior to moving to Lambton County she attended the University of Toronto, Ontario College
of Art and Design, and other arts centers across Canada
